Funeral service in church
A CD of hymns and music may be played as we carry the coffin into the Church, during the service and when carried out of the Church. Not all Churches will agree to this or have the facilities to play CDs. Some Churches only allow their own Organist to play. Please discuss with the Minister who is officiating your service as their permission is needed.
If CD music is allowed, then the Minister taking the service will need the required CD’s with the following details:
- Name of deceased
- Day, date and time of the service
- Where in the service the CD(s) is/are to be played,
- Track number and title of music.
Funeral service in a crematorium
Again, music may be played as we carry the coffin into the Chapel, during the service and when we exit the Chapel.
Most crematoriums also have an Organist who can play the hymns during the funeral service.
A vast majority of the crematoriums in our area support both the hymns and music through the Obitus system - the link below takes you to the Obitus Music Library where you can search their huge database for the music you would like to be played:
The Obitus System also offers services that include Photos, Visual Tributes, Live Streaming and Keepsakes. All these services can be discussed during our meeting with the family.
We need to know as soon as possible:
- The title of the song/hymn
- Artist/composer
- Order to be played
